Nina Dodd brought together nine Exmoor-based photographers and asked them to create images of wild Exmoor ponies over a period of six months in 2016-17 to challenge the traditional imagery of these iconic animals. The result is an engaging collection of images, presented in a multiple of genres and post-processing styles. A show of taking on a traditional topic and running wild with it. Take a trip along the old Barnstaple Branch line in a ‘brake van’ hauled by a steam engine, or try working a pump trolley along the rails. Lots of other railway exhibits. Our ancient church is filled with beautiful displays of flowers. Refreshments are available all day in church. There will be a children’s activity [the church mouse trail] Adults anjoy this too! There will be a variety of live music. On Sunday morning, the church will be used for services, at which all are welcome, but the Festival will continue in the afternoon. This is a great 1 day course to introduce kayak and canoe skills on flat water. An ideal candidate may be trying paddle-sport for the first time or have some previous experience. You will be taught a range of skills and techniques, as well as rescue techniques and safety considerations. You’ll be able to practice these skills in Canadian Canoes, sea kayaks, river kayaks and sit-on-top kayaks. Minimum age for this course is 14 (parental consent needed) Course cost: £70 per person; All equipment is provided: Kayaks, cags, wetsuits and bouyancy aids.
